Search Engines Love Silo Structured Websites

First of all, what is a "silo" and why do search engines like Google favor a silo site over one that is not?

A "silo" is a structure that is usually located in large farms.  Farmers use silos to store their grains- one silo for each kind of grain.  Rice will not be mixed with wheat and so with the other produce.  A silo structured site simply means that its contents were arranged in such a way that different topics will not mixed up.  Every content belong to their own silo.  This way, you avoid confusing the search engine spiders and they will love your site and will come back more often to index your pages.

To give you a better view of it, let's say your main topic in your website is about "Blogging Tips".  Let's presume this is your "farm". Your "Blogging Tips Farm" will have sub-topics like Wordpress Tips, Blogger Tips, Blog Writing Tips.  Your sub topics are your silos. Now using the silo technique, you won't store tips about Wordpress in Blogger Tips or Blog Writing silos.  Instead you will place it in your Wordpress Tips silo.  This way, your site will be organized and your gate will be opened to Google search engine spiders.
